Travel Info

By plane

The Bologna airport "Gugliemo Marconi" (BLQ) is linked by national and international air lines to flights to London, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, Brussels, Koeln, Frankfurt, and many other places.
The Marconi Airport is the best choice for flying to Bologna; it's very close to the city and an airport shuttle leads to the city centre in around 15 minutes. A taxi service is present night and day. The cost of a run from the airport to downtown should be lower than 30 Euros.

By car

The main motorway connection is the A1 (the "Autostrada del Sole"), which links Bologna directly to Milan, Florence and Rome and to three other main routes. The A1 can be entered from Turin, Genoa or Brescia, by the A21, at Piacenza; from Genoa and La Spezia, by the A15, at Parma; from Brenner Pass, Verona, Mantova, by the A22, at Modena. From Trieste, Tarvisio-Villach, Venice and Padua the A13 motorway is direct, as it is the A14 from Ancona, Rimini and Ravenna.
All the motorways exits lead into the city ring road (follow the signs "Tangenziale") from which branch off the roads for all directions. The by-pass exit n.7 (Centro - Via Stalingrado) is the more direct one: it leads you on a large road (Via Stalingrado) pointing to the centre.
From the North: take the exit Bologna-Borgo Panigale, take the ring road with the direction San Lazzaro and then take the exit 7-Via Stalingrado.
From the South: take the exit Bologna San Lazzaro, take the ring road with the direction Casalecchio and then take the exit 7-Via Stalingrado.
From the ring road to the Ex-Staveco parking area: stay in the right-hand lane and take Via Stalingrado (direction "city centre"). Go on for 2.5 km and then after having passed the fly-over bridge, turn right into Viale Masini. Go along the circular avenue (Viale di Circonvallazione) for about 5 km until you reach Viale Panzacchi, 10. Here you can find the EX-Staveco parking area.
There are pedestrian precincts from the Ex-Staveco parking area of Viale Panzacchi to the place of the meeting.

By train:

Bologna is the main italian railway junction and therefore all the most important national and international lines pass through it. InterCity trains and EuroStar (Pendolino) high speed trains connect Bologna to all the major italian cities.
Many night trains link Bologna with Germany, France and Austria; in particular there are direct night trains from Bonn, Koeln, Amsterdam, Paris and Vienna.
French TGVs arrive in Torino and Milano, and it is possible to find direct coincidence with the EuroStar trains to Bologna.

By bus and taxi:

Buses are run by ATC, the local bus company. Bus 25 connects the railway station to the central square, Piazza Maggiore, whereas buses no. 11 or 30 to Piazza Minghetti.
The ticket has to be purchased at kiosks (it costs 1 €) and has to be validated on the bus.

For a taxi, call 051 372727 or 051 534141.

Parking

The City Centre of Bologna is closed to private cars from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, including Sundays and Public Holiday. - hotel identifying stamp with the date and hour (on behalf of the hotel).
The pass P + Bus, is available at the hotels.
