Guidelines for Authors

Information for Presenters

Welcome to the SDEMPED'11 page for presenters. Presenters are kindly requested to strictly adhere to language, format, and electronic file requirements described below.

Presentations

All presentations are oral.

All presenters are kindly requested to meet their co-chairs in the session room 30 minutes before the session schedule in order to upload their presentation in the speaker's computer.

Presenters have to provide the co-chairs with a PowerPoint or PDF presentation bring on a USB key or a CD-ROM (both are strongly recommended). It is not possible to change the computer in between presentations.

The length of the presentation is restricted to 20 minutes including questions. The authors are strongly advised to conclude their oral presentation in 15 minutes (15 to 20 slides) and to let 4-5 minutes for questions.

Presenters have to bring a short printed bio (5-6 lines) to the session co-chairs.

Final accepted conference papers (regular technical tracks and special sessions) will be included in IEEE Xplore only if all the required materials have been submitted in proper format, full registration fee has been paid by one of the authors, and the paper has been presented at the conference. Please note that, if a paper is not presented at the conference, it will NOT be included in IEEE Xplore and no registration refund will be given.

Payment of Full Registration Fee

One of the authors must pay a full, regular registration fee before the deadline. Reduced registration fees (for example, student or life member registration fees) are not considered regular, and will NOT be accepted for publication. Please note a full, regular registration entitles an author to publish two papers. The second paper is subject to an additional fee.

Language

English is the working language of the conference.

Presentation at the Conference

We expect all papers to be presented by the authors. For each paper, at least one of the authors must attend the conference and present the work according to the conference schedule. After the registration, in rare unexpected cases when none of the authors can attend the conference and present, the authors must themselves coordinate with a qualified colleague to present the paper on their behalf. This arrangement is the sole responsibility of the authors and they need to inform the Conference Program Chair and Co-Chair as soon as possible.

Session Chairs

The session chairs have the responsibility to make the schedule strictly respected. Each presentation plus questions have to be presented within a period of 20 minutes. In case of “no show”, the session chair has to wait 20 minutes for the next paper or to close the session if it is the last paper. Each session chair has to fill a form (one by session) for session evaluation and to bring it back to the registration desk. All the rooms will be equipped with a video projector and a screen. The session chairs will be assisted by a conference organization member in each room from the beginning of the session up to the end.
